The confectionery brand wanted to measure the impact Facebook would have on its 2-month "badhti dosti ke naam" multichannel campaign, which shows people building friendships by sharing Cadbury Dairy Milk.
Cadbury Strategy
Cadbury used Facebook Marketing to build on top of the 30 sec TV ad that they have created using this sweet saas-bahu (mother-in-law daughter-in-law) duo to use their brand "Dairy Milk" as a tool to build friendship and rapport.
Most of us who have been married definitely understand the beauty and the enigma that the relationship between this duo brings to our lives so this interesting concept of sharing something sweet to explore a bridge connected with the audience on an emotional level.
To position itself as a way for people in India to grow their friendships, Cadbury ran a 2-month cross-platform campaign, including digital and traditional channels.
The brand created a 30-second TV commercial featuring a mother and daughter-in-law dancing in the street while sharing a bar of chocolate, and ran it as a video ad on Facebook.

Cadbury Worms Crisis 2003 ( Case Study)
In 2003 there was a crisis at Cadbury that "Worms" were found in Cadbury Dairy Milk which hit the spotlights vigorously as children were the main consumers of Dairy Milk.
There were several arguments between the Cadbury Management & the Retailers regarding who was responsible for this incident.
While Cadbury management argued that there was not a chance that the infestation could have been possible at the manufacturing end but only during bad storage conditions at retailers, Retailers argued that worms could not have dug into the chocolate bars at storage and should have been part of the manufacturing process only.
Cadbury Dairy Milk with Worm in it
This crisis, since it happened during the festival season slashed away 30% of sales from Cadbury's books rather than add 15% sales during the festival which was the norm for the company.
To make sure that customers trust was gained back, Cadbury did 2 things simultaneously:
1. To launch a new packaging "purity sealed" & invested up to Rs.15 crore in an imported packaging machinery so that vacuum was maintained in the packaging to make sure such incidents don't occur in January 2004
2. Roped in "Amitabh Bacchan" as a brand ambassador to communicate the change in packaging to the customers & promise them that it was safe to eat Cadbury again.
Using this 2-pronged approach Cadbury was able to:
1. Convince Media & public that the manufacturing process was absolutely safe and the infestation was only caused due to storage conditions & by introducing the new packaging this would be avoided in the future.
2. Bring trust back to the customers by introducing a genuine brand ambassador who is respected all over India.
3. Gain back sales that it lost since the crisis began.

Just like getting a #1 position in Google, achieving a high "rank" in Fiverr is one of the most effective ways to achieve traction with their service.
Regardless of what you're offering, being highly ranked on any of the "category" pages is what gives you the ability to determine exactly what you're trying to achieve in terms of growth with the service.
The point is that whilst offering a service (which actually generates results) is of the utmost importance, there are a number of things you can do to encourage the growth of your brand / account by utilizing a series of "tricks" / "tactics" to help improve your overall rank.
Before we begin, the most important thing to realize is that Fiverr doesn't really want you to "game" their system. You generally get more of what you don't need (not what you actually need), and as such if you're in "need" of getting ranked, you'll generally not feel the benefits of it.
You need to provide a service which actually works before even considering the rankings of your gigs...
With that out of the way, it's vital to first understand that Fiverr - like Google - uses a number of "factors" to determine which gigs show at the top of its category pages.
These factors are the ones you need to focus on in order to ensure that you're able to get the most effective ranks on the system. To this end, the factors are as follows:

• Reviews (both number and rating)
• Number of orders (including queued)
• Completeness of profile (is your profile complete)
• Quality of "Gig" (extra services, images etc)
• Keywords

If you're able to effectively "optimize" your gigs to fulfil the requirements of the above, you'll stand a better chance of making progress. However, it does not guarantee success or buyers...

• Reviews
  Each time you "complete" an order, the buyer is prompted to leave a review. This typically means they will provide the user with feedback and a "star" rating to denote the quality of the work provided. Obviously, having a healthy account with many 5-star orders means that Fiverr will value the input of the account, and thus be more disposed to ranking it higher. There's no other way to get reviews than to provide good work. Whilst you may wish to create several smaller "gigs" ($5 article writing or something) to get some quick buyers, the overall way that Fiverr ranks the results is based on the number of reviews over a sustained period.


• Number of Orders
  Some "gigs" on Fiverr are being purchased at the rate of 40+ per day. These orders tell Fiverr that the service provided by the account is not only in demand but of high quality. To this end, if you're looking at getting ranked highly, it's obviously going to be helpful to have a number of new orders coming in on a daily basis. The only way to increase order velocity is to provide a VERY good service at a very inexpensive price. For example, if you have an SEO service - offer it at 50% the price you'd normally hope to achieve for the first 3 months. This will give you the ability to attract more ephemeral buyers whilst you build up the "gig" to something more substantive.


• Completeness of Profile
  Make sure you upload a good profile image, list your qualifications / achievements and generally provide people with the ability to identify your core strengths without you having to tell them. They say that success leaves clues. Your profile should be a "tattoo" of your quality of work - meaning that if you are serious about getting your gigs ranked on their platform, you should ensure that each of your gigs has the most appropriate content in its description, quality images and you respond to any requests quickly and completely.


• Quality Of "Gigs"
  Next, the "quality" of any gigs posted on the system is also important. Adding extra services, writing a complete "description" of the gig and generally having a system which allows people to provide users with the ability to see what they're buying before they pay for it - allows users to get the most out of the system in the most effective way. It's generally a good idea to add multiple price-bands to your gig, as well as ensuring that you have any of the underlying copy written correctly.


• Keywords
  Finally, the "keywords" of your gig matter a lot. If you add a number of keywords, keep them specific to the service you're looking to provide. This not only ensures that you're able to get the most out of the system, but that Fiverr is able to effectively provision the gig in the search results etc.

Online Business - Is It for You?

I am going to start with a bit of a 'controversial statement (as I am quite prone to do):-
Starting a Business, Online (or Offline) is NOT for everyone & actually may NOT be for YOU.
If you are looking at working for yourself and starting up a business, you might be the best Joiner, Painter, Mechanic, Salesperson, etc, BUT it may not be for you - If you don't have or acquire certain traits, skills and experience, you will probably fail (maybe ending up owing a lot of money!) and being an employee is probably better for you: especially if you prefer:-
regular hours,
regular pay,
regular holidays,
sickness pay, or
are risk averse,
lack willpower and stamina.
Working for yourself and starting a business is definitely NOT a job. You have got to ask yourself if starting up and (hopefully) running a viable, successful business is for YOU - and no-one else.
This is exactly the same for an Online business, maybe more so. Just setting up a website for your Offline business is definitely NOT classed as running an Online business - really, all Offline businesses should have a website as an online presence as a minimum, however if you are really set on setting up an Online business, then there are specifics that must be addressed:-

Lots of people have found many ways to run a successful (profitable?) Online business, I have personally made a decent living selling items and information on a 'popular' auction site but the method(s) I have learned are only a few and I am currently still looking to learn other methodology and processes.
As an example, please 'Google' (funny how this has become a 'verb'!) or place in your search engine "make money online" - at the time of writing this gives 165 Million results, so there are many ways (some good, some not so!) regarding making money online. Have a good look around and see how big the online business is, and how vast the number of opportunities are. The only thing I recommend is NOT to buy anything before you have had a good look around - there are lots of scams and totally useless products/programs out there - so Caveat Emptor:- 'Buyer Beware'!
I want you to understand the range of opportunities out there, and that what may be suitable for some people may not be suitable for others.
