Grow your business, small seeds develop into strong trees, use this as a model for your business.
An online business, although a bit frustrating at times when you are learning new techniques is very rewarding. Like anything new you need to invest time to reach success; but the satisfaction and financial rewards are great. The fact you are creating a business in your spare-time gives great satisfaction. It won't happen overnight, but certainly worth the effort.

How Future Proof Is Your Job?

I have been aware recently of the ever increasing number of technologies becoming available to do the work that humans have traditionally done. It is not a new thing however, for thousands of years we have created new machines and technologies to do the work of humans. Agriculture is a prime example. Humans used to be hunter gatherers. Everyone was involved in the growing and harvesting of food. We then created all manner of machinery to do this for us so that now; instead of everyone growing and harvesting food, almost no one does. Yet we still have enough for everyone. Machines therefore have given us the freedom to go and do other things which has meant that our economies have grown and people have had more choice when it comes to what they do with their lives.
There are now robots working in warehouses moving stock around making forklift truck driving a redundant occupation. There are tests being carried out at the moment on driver-less cars. If cars can be driver-less then we will no longer need taxi drivers, or delivery drivers or driving instructors. Many of the laborious jobs in factories have been done by robots for a long time now replacing the need for lines of humans working peace time. Retail has seen the cashier being replaced by automated tills, where 30 people used to work, one person now oversees 30 machines. Mechanical muscle it seems is flexing. But is it just mechanical muscle?
Artificial intelligence is moving in to take on brain power. There are now robots being produced that can learn. Baxter is a robot that learns what you do from watching you do it and then copying you. Although very slow at the moment it costs a tiny amount to run so if it takes 10 times as long to do a job as you, it is still worth replacing you because it costs 100 times less than your annual salary.
Machines are now also learning from each other. They are out-performing their human counterparts in numerous fields. They don't make mistakes, they don't get tired or loose concentration and they don't cost nearly as much as humans to employ. There are no HR concerns, pensions or holiday pay or sick leave to cover and they never complain.
If you think it is just manual labour they will replace then think again. Lawyers spend a lot of time going through reams of paperwork to find patterns or something out of place. Machines can do this far more quickly and accurately. IBM have a robot called Watson. He thinks and reasons things out. He was seen on TV's jeopardy outsmarting the humans. His real job though is a doctor. He is already giving guidance on Lung Cancer treatments but he is being programmed to listen to what you say in your own words and then give an accurate diagnosis.
Analysts and report writers are already being made redundant. There are now lots of robots that can create content, music, art and designs. In blind tests people do not recognise which ones are done by the robots. Even this article could have been created by a bot, it certainly can be re-spun and re-produced by a bot, marketers use these tools every day.
So whether you are a manual worker, a transport worker, a white-collar worker or a professional - how future proof is your job? You are probably wondering now whether there is a safe industry to get into that would protect you from the march of the machines?
The answer is probably the internet. Humans are becoming more and more internet based every day. Social media has replaced the traditional means of communication, food is ordered online, taxis are operated via apps and companies now have to have an online presence if they are to be taken seriously. Learning how to work online or getting some of the skills that are going to be needed in the future is worth considering. If you can build a website or run an advertising campaign or look after an organisations Facebook and Twitter page then you will likely find employment in the new digital age.
One thing is certain, machines are coming. They will take over more and more of our jobs in the very near future. Don't say you weren't warned.

How Business Owners Can Monetize Their Website The RIGHT Way

Monetizing your website in the wrong way can drive away customers. For instance, recently I was doing research and ran across a runner's blog that had some great information. The only problem was that there were ten ads on all of their pages. I was so annoyed I quickly ran away from that page.
On another site, I started reading a great article, only to find it broken into twelve pieces with ads between each section. I understand the need to sell to your customer, but ad networks are probably not the best use of your advertising efforts. Ad networks may be easy to install on a website, but the customer experience suffers and customers run away.
I know it seems easy to buy a website theme with ad spaces and plug-in an ad network. Yet, when we look at the numbers, we are being paid pennies for each of those ads. They may work if you have thousands and thousands of visitors a day, but what if you only have a hundred or ten followers?
Here are two quick tips to you get started monetizing your blog
1. Understand Your Customer
Create a customer avatar. An avatar is a researched mental picture of your ideal reader. For instance, if I run a blog on how to cook BBQ, I can expect my readers to be men who are married and like watching sports. That is a good start, but did you know those guys are likely to drive a truck, go fishing and live in the southern part of the United States?
When you do your research, you pick up little cues about the kind of person they are. You can look at books and comments on sites like Amazon. You can look at forums and other web pages that cater to your type of customer. What kind of things are they trying to sell? What would be helpful to your ideal customer?
2. Change your thinking
Change the way you think about monetization. Instead of, "How can I make money with my blog or website?" ask "How can I best help the people who are visiting my page?"
When you know your customer and you think in terms of helping and serving, making money becomes much easier.
Ways to monetize
Review Products
The first way to monetize your website is to review products you found helpful. Create an account with sites like Amazon and Walmart. Select a product, write an honest review and include a referral link to that product. Anything visitors buy after visiting from your referral link will be credited to your account and you will get a percentage of the sale.
Use Beneficial Affiliate Products
Many people have created online products that could benefit your customers. Find a couple of products that would help your customers and share it on your page. You can post these banners in your ads spots or you can do a full write-up, much like the previous review product. A good place to start is to create an account with a site like ClickBank and search your topic.
Create Products
It is not hard to create your own digital product. With today's technology, we can record video from our laptop, phone or tablet directly to YouTube. We can even use YouTube's video editor to add words and titles. Or, we can record some audio training or motivation using simple free software like Audacity. We can even combine some of our own posts into a collection and add some additional information and create a book we can sell on our page or on Amazon.
Conclusion
The most lucrative way to monetize your webpage or blog is to know your customers and create products that help them. You are already an expert in your industry or you wouldn't have a website. Just learn to leverage that expertise and help your customer. They will respond by trusting your opinion and buying from you.

4 Step 90 Minute Blitz Formula

The 90 minute blitz formula makes a big difference in how productive you are. Identify at least 3 "crunch times" during each month. Ideally one at the beginning, middle and end of each month. By following these 4 steps, you can produce more in 90 minutes than you used to get done in one whole day.
You will learn to jam pack these 90 minute crunch sessions, ramp up and create rapid momentum. This is perfect for anyone working part-time on their home business. Your time is valuable and you must make the most of these small pockets of time. Sit down, ramp up and crunch out whatever is on your list - emails, making phone calls, writing posts, blogs, etc.
1. Pick a date. Put the date on your calendar. Block out your bulk time to create whatever you decide to create. This makes it concrete for you - a commitment. Pick the date and time of day that works for you.
2. Pick your profit maximizing action during that 90 minute blitz. If you do videos - focus only on videos, if you need to send out emails, focus on that. Profit maximizing action is anything that is going to get you results in your business - videos, calling leads, creating a webinar, sending emails, writing 2-3 blog posts, Facebook posts/ads. Non profit activities are watching a webinar training, sitting down to plan out your week, or organizing your office space.
3. Plan Ahead! The night before, plan out what you are actually going to do. The content, script, blog posts. You need to already have your ideas set. The 90 minute time frame is to complete the action. Have phone numbers ready, email list up to date, content ideas in place.
4. Focus and Execute. Nothing is more important than this step. It can be very frustrating when you are all prepped and the phone rings, doorbell rings, or there is a knock at the office door. If you have kids at home, see if someone can watch your kids for those 90 minutes. This is focus time - no interruption. Make this commitment 3 times a month. Unplug your phone, shut off notifications and keep away anything that will distract you and interrupt that 90 minutes.
Set a timer and focus solely on what you have planned to execute and run with it. This works because you are focused and many people work better in sprints. Instead of writing a blog post consistently every day, you will get more done with a 90 minute blitz. Start utilizing this inside your business. Challenge yourself to pick a date, write it down, tell someone so you are held accountable to it, then watch your business grow.

10 Tips To a Successful Online Business

Below I've compiled a list of 10 tips you'll want to consider when thinking about building your own online business. The list is by no means exhaustive. Each one is in practice for my own online business and there are many leaders in the industry that are also using the same techniques to succeed in their own businesses.
1) Find a niche market
When starting an online business from scratch you first need to think about what it is you are going to sell or provide to your customers. Selling everything and anything to anyone is not going to cut it today especially in the online world. Customers will always try to get the best service offered. If you are the best in your field then people will come to you. Pick a niche that has a high demand. No demand = no sales.
2) Target the right customers
Once you have chosen a niche market you will need to target to a specific customer. There's no point in trying to sell cycling gear to someone who doesn't know how to ride a bike. Find out who's interested in your product. Where do they shop (online)? How much do they spend on their interest a month? Are you aiming your product at a specific age group? How can you meet their needs?
3) Choose a platform to market your business
Choosing somewhere to market your product is the next step. This could be in the form of an authority website where you can market your brand. Depending on what your product is there are different ways to do this, for example if you are offering online services such as a course or expertise in a specific field then this is a great way to market yourself. You could start a blog to build yourself up and get your name out there as an expert. You could write articles and place them on article marketing websites. If you have a physical product to sell then you can create an eCommerce website.
4) Build a list
Building a list is probably one of the most important things you can do when starting an online business. If you don't have a list then you don't have customers. Once that customer subscribes to your list you have them for life and you can continue to market your products to them increasing the value that you have to offer. It's easier to sell to existing customers than it is to new ones as they already have that trust, which brings me to my next point.
5) Build trust with your customers
Without trust between yourself and your customer you will not be able to sell to them. Take some time to tell your customers about yourself and your business. Why can they trust you over another supplier? What's special about your business? Relate to the customer, share with them relatable experiences. This is what blogs and authority sites are great for. This is a place where they can learn about you and your product before you send them to your business page.
6) Become an expert in your field
Learn the ins and outs of your field. If you are selling expertise in nutrition but don't know the first thing about eating healthily then you're setting yourself up for failure. When people go to a specific site to find information on a subject then that's exactly what they should get. If you're advertising a new health regime but can't answer questions when your customers come to you then you don't have a business to stand on. Know what you are selling. Educate yourself before you can teach others.
7) Add incredible value
There is no better tip to success than adding value to someone's life. If you can solve somebody's problems they will pay good money to have them solved. But make sure you do have the answer for them. You don't want your business branded as a scam. If you are knowledgeable in a subject it's likely someone else needs that information, so teach what you know.
8) Advertise
Obviously your success will be the result of you making sales and you can't make sales without marketing your business. Advertising doesn't always have to be expensive, in fact there are some pretty good ways to advertise your business for free such as forum marketing, blogging, article marketing. Just know that if you are advertising this way it will take a lot longer for your business to make a profit than if you were using paid advertising methods. Paid methods include PPC (pay per click) social media, banner ads etc.
9) Follow up with customers
Once you start making sales it is important to follow up with your existing customers. As well as ensuring they received the service they were hoping for, you can direct them to your authority site where you have news and upcoming promotions on your next products or perhaps a newsletter they might be interested in. Always keep your current customers happy and interested, they will come back for more.
10) Optimize and repeat
So you've made your first sale and you're pretty chuffed with it, well the best part is you can do it all over again. Optimize your methods. Find out what worked best for you, what were the best marketing methods. Was there a particular ad that did better than others? Get rid of the stuff that's not working for you. It can take some time to work out the best methods for your marketing campaigns and it changes all the time but this is what sets the best businesses apart from the rest, how well you can optimize your methods and repeat the process with even more success.

Website Management - Protecting Your Hardest Working Sales Tool

Your website is your hardest working sales tool. It works 24/7, 365 days a year. The mega-powered website is your customer service representative, sales agent and support staff. Are you devoting sufficient resources to ensure the continuing success of your online real estate? So often business owners are so busy that they neglect their online presence - and it shows.
Now, imagine that your website suddenly goes offline. Who do you turn to? You found a cheap website design company for the initial design but the number is no longer in service and emails go unanswered. Who hosts your website? You remember seeing a credit card charge to GoDaddy, Network Solutions or some other Internet company. What is the login information? You spend several hours sifting through credit card statements to find the name of the company charging your credit card, then locating them online you visit their website and try entering your email address and guess at a password - login failed. In this article I am going to show you how to make $300 per day online using a simple 3 step process. Follow my blueprint and watch your income grow. It doesn't matter if you're a complete newbie, I've got the plan laid out in a simple to use format.
Here are the 3 things you must do to make $300 per day online:
Step 1: In order to make extra income online, you must have a product or service to promote. I recommend sticking with a topic that gets lots of potential customers searching the web for more information. Niche topics like "Make Money," "Dating," "Body Building," and "Weight Loss" are great topics to promote.
You can find these products on affiliate networks such as ClickBank and Jvzoo. These networks have a vast array of products that payout different commission percentages. These affiliate networks are easy to join. Make sure that whatever product you are promoting pays out 50% commission. You will also want to earn at least $100 per sale for this process to work correctly.
Step 2: Create a simple lead magnet. A lead magnet is a website that consists of a headline and call to action. Send ALL traffic to this page. This will ensure that you are building a long term business online. Remember, your lead magnet should be enticing to your visitor. Your potential subscriber should receive a benefit for subscribing to your list.
Once you have created your lead magnet, it's time to write your follow-up campaign. Make sure that you have at least 7 follow-up emails in place. I personally use 10 follow-up emails but 7 is a good number as well. People don't trust everyone they do business with online. That's why it's important to have the follow-up sequence in place.
Step 3: This is where it gets fun, and PROFITABLE! Now that you have created your follow-up email campaign, you can begin using different advertising strategies to get the word out about your product or service. I recommend that you choose 3 traffic building strategies and test them thoroughly.

Here's what needs to happen. You will want to send 200 visitors to your lead magnet every day. That way you are getting 80-100 new subscribers per day. Test and tweak your sales funnel until it is converting 3% of your subscribers into paying customers. At $100 per sale, that's $300.
That's it! It doesn't take much to accomplish this task. However, it does take patience and the willingness to test out different traffic sources. Once you find the traffic source that converts well for you, it's easy to scale up your online business.

Develop Online Success and Live in Sunshine

Why does sunshine make us feel happier? Is it the feeling of warmth, a holiday feeling, or the cheery glow of the golden orb in the sky that paints everything with a bright glow, and as it sinks below the horizon at sunset, casts a silvery light on the sea.
Maybe it is all those things that puts a smile on people's faces; making them feel more contented and at ease with life.
We have just moved to warmer climes and intend to spend our winters here soaking up some of those golden rays and warmth. 300 days of sunshine a year beats cold dark damp and dreary days.
Our plans began several years ago as a chance remark when on holiday in Ibiza. We later discovered prices in Ibiza were beyond our budget and with the property slump how much more we could purchase with a limited budget in Spain and possibly other European countries. Our choice of Spain was further developed when my daughter and her husband purchased a finca or farm-house in the mountains in Spain.
We have had great interest from family and friends to both visit us here and spend holidays in our Spanish home, so maybe this is the way forward when we are not staying here.
We've only been here a couple of months and having resolved a problem with electrics and the hot water system, ordered a new bed and discovered the best places to shop for various items, from our helpful English neighbours.
Our choice was to live near the beach in a predominantly Spanish community. It does mean another priority is to learn a basic Spanish vocabulary as fast as possible! This will make future shopping trips more successful. However I also feel it is only reasonable to try to integrate into your new country as fast as possible.

Maybe you want to teach people how to work on car engines. Maybe it's more in your style to talk about the law of attraction.
