How to Sell Ink Cartridges on eBay

Ink cartridges are a very profitable and fast-moving item to list on eBay. Even the ones that are expired sell regularly and for a good profit. They are also very easy to find either at yard sales, thrift stores, estate sales or in a storage unit you may buy at auction.
The process for buying an ink cartridge is no different from any other item you may be sourcing. It begins with looking the cartridge up on your eBay app on your smart phone. For example, lets use the HP 20 Black C6614d ink cartridge. Imagine that you are in a thrift store like Goodwill today, and you come across an HP 20 Black ink cartridge. The box is a little worn, but it is still sealed from the factory. It's priced at $1.99. It's expiration date is MAR 2008. You get out your phone, open the eBay app and type in "HP 20 Black C6614d expired 2008". The results pop up on the screen. The prices range from $5 to $13. Those results don't mean a lot, they just show you the price range people are asking for that item. What you need to do is tap on the refine tab, then tap completed. The reason why you pick the completed option instead of the sold option is because the sold option only shows you the auctions that did sell. You want to see auctions that sold, and auctions that ended without selling. Scrolling down the list, if the price is green, that shows you it sold. If the price is red(windows based smart phones don't have the color so carefully check each listing to see if it sold.), that auction ended without a bid or buy it now. The green prices outnumber the red by 5 to 1. This is a good sign, it means this item sells regularly. The prices that are green range from .99 to $13, with various expiration dates and shipping fees charged. After a quick averaging of prices and expiration dates, this cartridge looks like a quick & easy sale priced at $11 with $2.99 shipping.
Here is a quick method I use to do a field determination of what I will make on this item. I always figure cost and fees a little high to be safe. If the cartridge sells for $11(I don't include the shipping charges in this & always try to be as accurate and honest with the buyer as possible on the charges), I figure eBay and PayPal fees at 20% (like I said I figure fees a little high to be safe). $11 x.8 = $8.80. You need to take the fees off the top of your total sale price first. Then you take what you paid for the item out. $8.80 - $1.99 = $6.81 before tax profit. That's not a huge profit, but you tripled your money on this one sale and now you have $6.81 to put back into your business and multiply again! You could even hold on to the cartridge until you have two or more and sell them in a lot to make more profit off one transaction. You could even set the sale price at $14 with a best offer option. It will either pop at $14, or you may get a best offer you can accept.
I chose this particular cartridge because it is a very common item. With all the different brands and models of cartridges out there the prices are all over the place, so if you are unfamiliar with an item, always look it up. You may even want to look up items you are familiar with if its been a while since you sold them because prices will fluctuate from time to time.
The Benefits of Selling Ink Cartridges on eBay:
  • Easy to source. Yard sales, thrift stores, estate sales etc.
  • Small and easy to ship.
  • They sell quickly and at a good ROI.
Things to Watch Out For with Ink Cartridges:
  • Expiration dates. A few years is OK, but more than 5 or 6, be careful.
  • Make sure the box is unopened, or the cartridge wrapper is sealed.
  • Only purchase name brand cartridges like HP, Epson, Canon etc. Avoid generic brands or refurbished cartridges.
  • Always use the method mentioned above to look up any item before you buy it to resell.
Reselling items like ink cartridges on eBay is a great way for anyone to make a few extra hundred dollars a month, or make a full-time income like I do.

There's a misconception floating around the internet marketing arena, that you do not have to have expertise to start an internet marketing business. Think about this for a moment, of you were to invest in something of value, who would you buy from, someone who doesn't know what they are talking about or from someone who does. Granted if the product is cheap or you already are familiar with the product, chances are it won't make much of a difference, however long term it would.

Planning Online Courses - Do You Know Your Audience?

Who are you creating your courses for? Do you know your Audience?
In the film, Field of Dreams, the tag line was "If you build it, they will come" That might work with two teams of long dead baseball players, but unfortunately this is not a good strategy for online courses
You need to know who your audience are. The image you create of your ideal student is called an Avatar - nothing to do with that film either! This is a profile that you create based on what you know of the type of people who will be taking you course.
How do you find this out - is the next obvious question. Simple. Speak to them and ask them. My audience for my online courses about creating online courses is less demographically specific and does not have a gender bias.
On the whole these are people 15 to 50 who are entrepreneurial, creative, expert, smart. They can come from any part of the world - my courses reach 164 countries.
Start listening to your audience. Ask them questions. Create messaging dialogues. Organise Skype calls. Get under their skin.
Find out who they are.
I ask my students at the start of my courses to introduce themselves. This helps me to understand a little more about them and when they do leave a message in the course, it's a great opportunity for me to ask them a question and keep the discussion going.
This information is very powerful.
When you talk with them or message with them start looking for key phrases of information about their struggles, motivations, goals, ambitions and objectives. These pieces of information are golden and will be particularly valuable when we come to discuss the next section - Problems.
Do not be afraid to niche your audience down.
By being very specific about your audience, you will resonate with them. If you keep your definition very broad, in order to capture a wide audience, you will resonate with no-one. When you start it is better to focus on one niche but as time goes on you can address multiple niches with your courses.
Try to create an outline written profile of your Avatar.
Even give them a name. Who are they married to or in a partnership with? Do they have children? Where do they live? What is their home like? What is their income? Do they have a car? The more you can fill out this profile, the more you can get to know them.
When you create your courses for them, it is much easier to feel that you are speaking directly to them, engaging with them. Although you are making courses for hundreds, if not thousands, of students, it is still a very personal method of transmitting knowledge. In the course there are only ever two people. You, the instructor, and the student and the more you can make your courses feel intimate and personal, the better will be the student experience.
This is one of the reasons I believe that Alun Hill is so successful. He works very hard to answer all the questions and discussions with his students and when you take his courses, you feel as if he is really talking directly to you. He does not lecture in the traditional sense of the word, he communicates the information you need to know in a very relaxed and no nonsense way that makes you feel that you know him as well as he seems to know you.
This is not an accident nor is it easy to do well. Many courses I have taken have seemed as if the instructor was delivering information to a disembodied spirit somewhere. Learn from this by really getting to know your audience and you will create better courses.

When You Should or Shouldn't Turn Your Passion Into a Business

Depending on which internet marketing guru or teacher you follow, or whichever is the flavor of the month, you are going to get conflicting information on whether or not you should turn your passion into your internet marketing business.
In this article I will share with you, the advantages of why you should consider choosing something you are passionate about; in addition to that I will share the three things to look out for in qualifying whether that passion should be turned into an internet marketing business.

Why choose a passion for your business?
Chances are your passion is something you love to do or have a very keen interest in, more than the average man or woman. It might be something that gets you all juices up and excited about. Also there is a high probability, it is a subject you are either knowable about or have experience in. Even if you don't have much knowledge or experience, gaining it wouldn't be a chore, it'd be joy.
Just selecting an online business, just solely based on your level of passion, could in and of itself set you up for failure, unless if the following criteria are valid for your chosen niche.
1 - Is their large audience or customer base?
It's pretty important to know and make sure there are a lot of people in the world who share your passion. Let's say you are passionate about vegan foods, right now there's a lot interest in that niche. However if you were to turn the clock back 30 or 40 years ago, the people who would be interested in that niche would be much less.
Niches, with a small customer base, are more often going to be less competitive, which could be seen as a good thing. However on the flip side, they won't be exposed to people providing them with a solution for a fee, whereby you could end up fighting an uphill battle right from the start.
2 - Do they have a disposable income to pay for solutions or are they willing to pay for it?
Having an audience or customer base is one thing. However, whatever you provide to your customer base has to be valuable enough for them to consider paying for it and do they have the money to pay for it?
3 - Is the market competitive?
If there's one a simple rule for you to remember, it is, competition is good. In essence they have validated the market. You know there is profit to be made. The level of competition in a market is, to a degree a good indicator that the market is profitable. However, saying that there always caveats to this rule.
Don't let the level of competition deter you from entering a niche, as you can always find ways to set you apart from the competition, identify what is under served by the existing players in the niche. You can achieve this by building a list and engaging with your list, whereby they will tell you what is under served by the existing players.

How To Free Up More Time To Start Your Online Business

Are you in a position, where you want to start an online business, but you are finding it a challenge to fit it in your busy schedule? If that's the case with you, carry on reading, as I will share with you a two step process, to free up more time, in order to start and run your business.
Let's get started
Step one
In order to free up your time, the first thing you must do is know how you are currently spending your time. As time is the one thing we all get in equal measure. We all get 24 hours a day, 60 minutes in an hour and we all use up that time.
For the next couple of days, or a week max, keep a detailed record of how you spend your time. From the moment you wake up, until you go to bed at night.
Step two
After you've kept an accurate log of how you spend your time. You will discover the following:
1 - You participate in certain activities, just for the sake of killing time.
It could be something as simple as watching a rerun of TV show. When you think about it, these are the type of activities that we can give up or sacrifice.
2 - There are activities or tasks you do, that you can delegate or outsource.
3 - Your must do's.
These are activities you must do no matter what. For me, an absolute must is spending a couple of hour's day of quality time with my daughter.
4 - Finally you are going to discover that there are activities you do that enable you to do something else at the same time. For example, I spend on average of two hours on the train. Here's how I make best use of time, by writing articles like this on my kindle fire. Before I had my kindle, it was on my Smartphone or notepad.
By doing the above exercise, you should be able to at least free up an hour of your day, for you to start and run your online business. If you are serious about starting a business, that's the bare minimum of time, you should invest.
Even after doing the above exercise and you still are unable to free up any of your time. You can always go to sleep an hour later or wake up an hour earlier.

Trying To Build an Online Business? The Three Dangers of Procrastination

In this article I will share with you the three dangers of procrastination, what you need to do and be aware of in order to break free from. As I have had firsthand experience, on how it can have a detrimental impact on your life.
My aim, in this article, is to help you move from where you are to where you want to be, as I've wasted years mastering the art of procrastination, when in reality, I really wanted to have and run my online business.
Here are the three dangers:
#1 - Your dream will fizzle out, or you will enter the pressure cooker.
One of the biggest problems of a procrastinator is starting. They spend days, weeks, months or even years, coming up with valid reason as to why they are unable to start. When you are in this cycle, what you want to start is going to fizzle out, or you are only going to start when the pain of not starting, becomes so unbearable, you have to start. It is as if you are in a pressure cooker. Chances are when you do get started, you will find yourself procrastinating on something else, as you've mastered the art of procrastinating.
#2 - Wasting time and mental energy
As a byproduct of procrastinating, you end up spending your time thinking about either the reasons why you are unable to start, think about all the steps you need to take or even think about the actions you need to take, without taking then. When in reality, you would have been better off starting and doing the thing you're delaying.
#3 - Beating yourself up mentally
It's pretty common for a procrastinator to beat themselves up mentally, especially when they see others people successfully starting and running their own business
So what's the solution?
The vast majority of personal and business development gurus preach, you've just got to take action, and that action needs to be massive action. Truth to be told, there is truth to what they say. Without starting, there's no way you are going to complete whatever you've been procrastinating on. However when you tell a serial procrastinator, to take massive action, isn't going to help much in the long term, as they've mastered the art of procrastinating.
If you fall into this category, what you need to do is stop and focus on your primary reason for wanting to start an online business, your purpose, and you have to get complete clarity on it. When you have a strong purpose, it can act as your motivator and provide you with the inspiration to carry on, when the going gets tough. Just knowing your purpose isn't good enough, you've got to strengthen it and make it powerful.

If you're looking for a one word answer, it's confidence. Confidence is having the faith or belief in someone or something. If you do not have confidence that you will succeed, it'll be an uphill battle and you'll be prone to throw in the towel, when the going gets tough.
Confidence in starting an online business, requires you know exactly the reason or reasons, why you want to start an online business. What is your why? What personal goals do you want to achieve, as a result of starting your business. However most importantly, it has to be compelling enough for you, when the seeds of doubt set in and when you hit a roadblock or challenge.
Here are a few techniques you can use, to create and build confidence.
Affirmations
In the late 1800's a French psychologist Emile Coue, had discovered the constant repetition of statements, positive or negative, had a profound effect on persons thoughts, feelings, actions and well-being. He achieved tremendous successes with his clients, when he taught them to repeat "every day in every way my life is getting better and better."
Modern day personal development teachers and trainers who teach affirmations, teach their clients to state the outcome or result they want in a positive manner and in the present.
For example, "I am so happy and grateful now I easily radiate confidence"
Visualization
Visualization is the use of mental imagery to influence bodily processes, control pain or prepare for athletic or any kinds of performance. The success of visualizations is mainly due to the fact that they work like affirmations.
All you need to do is invoke the power of your imagination and visualize starting your business. You can picture in your mind running a successful business, the fruits of running a successful business. Imagining the ideal day or days, you will experience as a result of starting your business.
To aid and assist the visualization process, most people also create a vision board. A board that contains a collage of pictures of the outcome they will achieve or will inspire them.
Afformations
Are similar to affirmations, however instead of focusing on repeating a positive statement, you ask a positive question, starting with why.
"Why have I started a successful business?"
Noah St John, discovered the concept of Afformations, when he start off, asking a question with why. Which lead him to discover that, when you ask yourself why questions, your brain goes off finding answers to support the question.

Simple Five Step Formula To Building an Online Business

In this article, I am going to provide you with a simple formula to build an online business. Individuals who have used it, have been able to break free from their 9-5 jobs, earning thousands of dollars in the process.
The formula is so simple, it can be written on the back of an envelope. To be honest with you any business concept that can't be explained on the back of envelope is too complicated in my books.
So let's get started
1 - Uncover or identify a profitable niche, where there is a healthy dose of demand and competition.
2 - Communicate on demand with the people in the niche, preferably by email. The best method of capturing email address is through using lead magnets.
3 - Find out what the people in the niche want to achieve, in relation to the niche they are in.
4 - Create or prove products or services, that will help them achieve what they want.
5 - Refine the process, through testing and tracking.
Chances are right now, you are wondering surely there's got to be more to than that or how the do I do that.
Let me answer the first question. Yes, there's more to than that, but that's the essence of an online business. Just think of your favorite pizza delivery company for a moment, the essence of their business is, taking the order for a pizza, baking the pizza and delivering it. That's the formula of their business, is there more to it than that, yes, but that's the essence of their business.
People so often get so bogged down on the details, they fail to get started. They want to know everything before they start, they want to know the how before they start. Let me tell you this, the how is out there, the help to get you where you want to go is out there.
Right now, if you are seriously interested in starting an online business there's only two things you need to do and know. First is to make a commitment that you want to start and second to get clear on your purpose on starting an online business.
When you have a strong and powerful purpose, it can act as your driver and motivator, when the going gets tough. Think about a goal you previously achieved, you'll notice that your driver and motivator was your primary purpose for wanting to achieve your goal.

How To Create A Positive Mindset When Building An Online Business

When you are starting or building a business, whether it is online or offline, if there's one that's a given, it's the fact you are going to come across challenges and obstacles, both internal and external, that could just stop you in your tracks and at worse cause you to throw in the towel. In order to shield yourself from this, it's pretty vital for you to have a positive mindset.
It's pretty common for a person to think that you either have a positive outlook, a positive mindset or you don't. It's pretty common for most people to think, that it's fixed and can't be changed. However this is not always the case. Some people have the natural tendency to have a positive outlook on life, whereas other people have to take conscious steps to create a positive outlook and in this article I will share with you the five steps you can take to create a positive mindset for you.
If you fall into a group of people who see no benefit in having positive mindset, I encourage you to investigating the studies conducted by Barbara Fredrickson, on the effects of having a positive mindset. She found, when you experience positive emotions, like joy, contentment, and love, you will see more possibilities in your life. Her finding suggested positive emotions broaden your sense of possibility and open your mind up to more options.
Let's get started on the 5 Steps.
1. Live Your Life With Passion.
Get excited about the things you do on a daily basis, or find things you can get excited about, if you're not happy with them, now's your chance to change them today! If you start to live your life with passion your mindset will automatically change. Don't just go through the motions each day, enjoy what you are doing or very least find things that are enjoyable in what you do.
2. Practice gratitude
It is so important to always be grateful for what you have today. All you need to do is sit down and think about all those things you have in your life, without taking them for granted. Life can throw challenges and obstacles, however by being grateful for what you have, makes it easier to deal with them.
3. Be proactive
By developing this habit, it will help you develop a positive mind and by doing things that need to be done you are becoming more responsible for your actions.
4. Take responsibility for your life.
By taking responsibility you will have much more control over your life as well. When you start to feel you have more control you will be motivated to take action and deal with problems as they occur, instead of letting them get you down and be less likely to blame others when things don't go to plan.
5. Surround yourself with positive minded people
If you are serious in your pursuit of developing a positive mindset, it's important to surround yourself with like minded people and this includes friends, co-workers and family.
Negative people get together and blame others for their problems. This isn't going to help you at all. Instead the best thing you can do is to stay away, or reduce the time you spend with these types of people.
While achieving a positive mind is possible it can sometimes take a bit of work and sacrifice to achieve it. By following the above tips you, taking one tip at a time, will be on the right path to improving your outlook and getting that positive mindset you always wanted.

Starting an Online Business? Three Habits You Need To Create

If you have been thinking about creating your online business for a while or have decided to start your online business, there are three habits you need to create and develop. In order to build a list of prospects, know what products to create or promote.
Before I share the three habits with you, I am assuming that you have already identified your compelling reason or reasons for starting an online business and have identified the niche you want to do business in. Otherwise what I'll share with you will be of little value.
For starters, it's essential, that you know your reason for starting your business and for it to be compelling for you. As you start and continue your journey of building your business, you are going to come across challenges and obstacles, if your compelling reason is weak, you're going to be likely to throw in the towel when you across them.
With regard to choosing your niche, your niche should be a niche you are knowledgeable or are prepared to gain knowledge on, as this essential in building and creating the first of the three habits, I will share with you in a moment.
Also the niche you should choose should both be profitable and competitive, backed up by research. You may need to do some data mining. For starters you may check out sites like SEMRush, Similarweb, Amazon or Google's AdWords planner. You should check to see if there are books and magazines in your niches and the searches on keywords used in your niche.
Don't get too hung up on your first niche, you may hit a home run on your first niche or you may not. If you don't, you'll have valuable feedback for your next niche. It's starting that's important, as nothing can happen without you starting.
Let's get started on the three habits you need to create
Habit one - constant content creation
This is a habit I believe you need to develop on a daily basis. Your content could be articles, videos, blog posts or podcasts. By doing this on a daily basis you'll be increasing your chances of gaining free traffic and becoming perceived as an expert in your field. Think about this, if you were to write an article a day in a year you'll have 365 articles.
Habit two - asking questions to the people in your list
Make it a habit to regularly ask and find out about the challenges they regularly experience and facing. Then go about finding what type of solution would make a measurable difference in their lives. By doing this you'll have access to valuable information, to help you with creating content. Plus, you'll also know what products to create or promote as an affiliate.
Habit three - test and track your results
By getting into the habit of testing everything you do, subject lines for emails, opt-in forms, package designs, pricing, etc., you will have a good idea of what's working and what's not.
